Adventure #65: Gurney Drive (Penang)

Thus far this trip, we have taken the kids to sample only the best food places we have identified.  As such, they do not have an idea of the different types of street food available.  Since Penang is the capital of street food, the best place to do this would be here and in Gurney Drive ! So, after dinner at Hameediyah, we drove over for a stroll.

Note to all, over the past years, Malaysia has changed many of the street names from English to Malay.  The less drastic ones would be from Hutton Lane (Penang) to Lebuh Hutton and the more drastic ones would be Anderson Road (Ipoh) to Jalan Raja Musa Aziz!  A nightmare when using the GPS!  Anywas, Gurney Drive is now Persiaran Gurney......

Totally packed even after 9pm

We really can't walk past food stalls without buying something, although the quality of food here is really average......

The little one wanted to try the deep fried little sausages

G wanted to try the Apong - the woks are used to make the thin and crispy apongs

This is the pancake-ish ones

Yummm sugar cane juice

Many different varieties - this is a whole new experience - salty/sour/sweet all together!

Only come here for the experience, not the food!
