Adventure #66: Him Heang Vs Ghee Hiang (Penang)

Penang is also famous for its Tau Sah Peah 豆沙餅  a dessert made from beans.  For as long as I can remember, we have always bought our TSP from Him Heang.  Before our trip, my mum decided she wanted TSP from Ghee Hiang instead.  I have never heard of Ghee Hiang but apparently it has been around for over 150 years. So, we decided to get both and compare.

Also a box of 16 but sealed in 4 separate packs

Verdict:
Ghee Hiang's TSP is slightly sweeter and "nuttier" than Him Heang's.
Him Heang's has more of a "roasted" or "oven baked" taste.
I like both but G prefers Him Heang's.
However, as the Ghee Hiang ones are separately packed, it will last slightly longer and better if you are buying to take out of the country.
